Sigi Vogl - Owner of Adventure Dolomiti

Experience

Meet Sigi, owner, operator and lead guide for Adventure Dolomiti.

Hi there! As owner of Adventure Dolomiti, I’ve made a career about pursuing the art of cycling, running, biking, hiking, climbing, skiing, and traveling the Dolomites. It’s hard work, but someone’s got to do it! In many ways, I know that it is my calling to explore these epic places, and to share them with other adventure-minded travelers.

Rather than me finding the Dolomites, the Dolomites found me. I will never forget the first time I saw them way back in the early years of my climbing career. After being discharged from the US Army as a recreation specialist based in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, I decided to spend a year exploring Europe.

That year turned into six, and I found myself the apprentice of alpine guides, learning by exploring the rock faces, ski peaks and wild rivers of the Alps—including frequent trips to the Dolomites that had some of the biggest, hardest rock climbing routes in all of Europe. The experience in the Dolomites had a lasting impression that never left my heart and soul. Along with the stunning beauty of these jagged peaks soaring out of the carpeted green pastures, the tasty South Tyrol food and wine also stayed in the memory bank forever.

After returning to the U.S. and guiding for 18 years, I had to return. I launched Adventure Dolomiti in 2013, and have had the ride of my life since. Whether for a 4 day trip, weeks long escape, or exchange of beta for a self-guided traveler, it’s my interactions with visitors that tie my career together. Nothing brings me a greater thrill than helping others discover the magic of the Dolomites-and
