Hotel Gasthaus Adler

One of the key aspects when you travel on a trip with Adventure Dolomiti is that you will not just be staying at a nice hotel or mountain rifugio that is randomly found on the web. You will be staying at a property that has been hand selected by me personally.

Unique to the South Tyrol region is that most of the hotels, restaurants & rifugio’s are owned and operated by families and passed from one generation to the next. I have had the good fortune to find properties that I think are very special, that not only are located in spectacular settings, or offer wonderful amenities and amazing cuisine. But hotel owners that I can truly call my friends.

I like to look Adventure Dolomiti as one big family. By your traveling with me, you become part of this family network, the hotel owners and their service staff.

This brings a whole new meaning to the term “hospitality”. In South Tyrol, they take immense pride in everything they do, it is simply unsurpassed.

Here is one of the wonderful hotels that I love and can call my friends. If you travel with me and stay here, you will be talking about for years to come:

Hotel Gasthaus Adler located in charming Villabassa/Niederdorf is a renowned family business and has been in existence in the South Tyrolean Alta Pusteria for the past 400 years. It has a blend of traditional architecture, charming gasthaus and modern interior room design. The Pircher family all work in some capacity, from day-to-day operations to marketing. One of the special aspects to this hotel is Helene Markart, head chef of the house, loves old local recipes and is always creating something innovative having grown up on a local farm. Her husband Christian’s hospitality is unsurpassed, greeting every visitor with a big smile runs the hotel part. Christian has a special passion for vintage bicycles and is a founder of the legendary mountain bike “Dolomiti Superbike” that starts and finishes in front of the hotel annually in July. Daughter Elisa is a recent graduate of hospitality hotel management university & now applying her skills for the next generation.

The hotel is superbly located for a wide variety of outdoor activities, amazing hikes and bike trails right out the door for exploration of this spectacular & renown Three Peaks Region.
